Senior Managing Director

Jay serves as Senior Managing Director for Sauer Properties and helps ensure all development, leasing and asset management activity operates in a consistent and meaningful manner for the company.

With over 35 years in commercial real estate, Jay has extensive knowledge in development, acquisitions, leasing, asset management and property management for multiple property types. For more than 27 years he was an integral part of Liberty Property Trust where he served as VP and City Manager, responsible for leading multiple regions in the United States. Jay built market leading teams ranging in size from 15-40 people and was directly involved with over $2B of real estate transactions. In 2017, he joined Lingerfelt Commonwealth Partners in Richmond, VA and played a lead role in sourcing properties, asset management and operations in the eastern half of the United States. Jay subsequently served as SVP for National Property Holdings in Houston, TX where he was responsible for managing all aspects of their industrial real estate company. In 2023, Jay joined Lovett Industrial in Washington, DC, to grow their Eastern Region platform. He was responsible for strategic oversight and regional growth through investment, acquisition, and development of industrial properties. Jay later expanded his role and was responsible for overseeing all leasing, asset management and property management for the company nationally.

Jay earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration at the University of Northern Colorado. He has been active in NAIOP, SIOR, Richmond Real Estate Group.
